I found Monday’s workshop really useful, it helped me find the main subject for my animation and define the message I want to send. Experimenting with different subjects made me find the one that I want to explore further. The first step I took was to draw fivd significant moments from David Attenborough’s life.  The one’s I chose were: Zoo Quest, Life on Earth, Naming and renaming („Titum Arum”), Dumbo octopus caught on film for the first time, Deeper and deeper (exploring the Barrier of Reefs). After I sketched and explored those I zoomed into how people overrun the world and how that leads into global warming.

Zoo Quest, Life on Earth, Naming and renaming („Titum Arum”)

The show Zoo Quest he combined studio presemtation with footage on location for the firsttime, bringing the wild into people’s living rooms. He renamed the biggest flower on earth „Amorhophallus Titanum” by ”Titum Arum”, as well as this, other species carry his name, such as the „Attenborosaurus” dinosaur.

1979 – „LIFE ON EARTH”

He traveled the globe to create the series „Life on Earth” , watched by over 500 million people. It was considered the greatest one at that point, wit astonishing camera tecniques.

The word „drip” is a homonym that connects two very different elements, the problem of global warrming and pop culture. I want to use it because it can bring the world’s problem to a more +public+ place, using things that are already appeciated by youth. This way teenagers might get interested is the bigger issue. In order to illustrate it I used a penguin that transforms into the nike sign (the hipotetical drip), while ice it’s melting and dripping (the actual drip). Also „ice” is a homonym  that can help supporting my idea.
